What the doctor told me

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, I was probably too embarrassed, but I've been suffering with moderate acne for around three years.
Up until about a week ago I had never been to a dermatologist, but once I did I got the oh so wonderful news that basically if I didn't do something soon, it would kind of be too late.
Of course, I knew this was true already, but hearing it from a professional means that it's serious stuff.
I'm starting to get some scarring, which really isn't attractive on me whatsoever...
Anywhoo,
when I saw the doctor he put me on an oral antibiotic, as well as a topical treatment.
Also, he recommended that I wash my face with a particular soap (which we had a little difficulty finding) using, instead of a wash cloth, what's basically a scrubby for your face.

Then he put me on a diet where I can't eat the following things:

Fried and greasy dishes (obviously), Ham and pork (basically the only types of meat I really like), Butter, Cream, Chocolate (*Insert dramatic "Nooooooooo!" here.*), Spices, Nuts, Peanut butter, Cola drinks (I'm fine with this since I don't drink Pop anyway.), Iodized salt, Coffee, Tea, and Caffeine.

I can however eat "An abundance" of:
chicken, Bread, Sugar, Candy,
Beef, Lamb, Veal (what is a 'veal'?),  Potatoes, All vegetables and cereal.

The reason I'm supposed to eat all that stuff is to replace calories from the stuff that I can't eat anymore... But to tell you the truth since I'm not exactly a big fan of those foods (especially sugar, candy and potatoes... I really don't like potatoes very much at all.) and eat them sparingly, I seem to have lost a couple of pounds. Not to say that I don't eat enough because trust me, I do.

Below is the only un-edited recent picture I could find of myself. You can't see that well, but you can definitely get an idea of how bad my acne was before I started this whole thing.
I don't actually have a picture of what my skin looks like now, but it is clearing up quite a bit.

Now for the yucky part!

The medication I was prescribed to put on my face apparently has a LOT of alcohol in it... Or at least it seems like it to me since it smells strongly of it.  When you mix that with my skin, you get "Uh-Oh!".
When I woke up yesterday, my face was legitimately cracking. CRACKING! Also, if I opened my mouth wide enough, it pulled the corners of my eyes down.. Is that crazy or what?
This stuff is drying my face out like none other... But if what I get out if it in the end is clear skin (and please no wrinkles due to moisture deprivation!) I'll find a way to survive.

Last but not least, one of the most scary things the Doctor made me do was give up wearing makeup.
This girl right here was beyond self conscious about her skin, hence she wore makeup almost literally ALL THE TIME. So you can imagine how nervous I was about going out in public without.
At first I felt naked, but after a while it's not really all that big of a deal to me.
I'm actually kind of glad that I can't wear makeup any more (at least, for the time being.).
It takes me a LOT less time to get ready, and I don't have to scrub a truck load of foundation off of my face before I go to bed.

All in all, I just hope that by a few months I'll be able to cross "Get clear skin" off of my bucket list!

I got my hair cut! My new hair-brained obsession...

(Inspiration for my hair! Ursula Corbero. Even the color is almost the same as mine! )

Hello my lovelies! Long time no see... I apologize for being gone for so long!
I should have blogged about this sooner, but I just didn't get to it until now...
After more than two years, I got a legit haircut!

I had been contemplating on getting blunt bangs for months, but I thought I made up my mind for good not to get them in fear that I would end up not liking it.

Well, about a week ago It popped into my head... "I'm gonna do it. I'm getting my bangs cut!"

That Friday, I sat in the chair at Dillards salon in my mall and watched as my hair was transformed before my eyes!... Okay, I admit... The stylist wouldn't let me peek. She was super excited to get her hands on my hair, it was hilarious!

"Tah dah!" she turned the chair around  and showed me my new do. I freaked out! It was so different than what I was used to, it changed my look completely!
I walked out of that salon feeling like a new girl!

I wanted a little edge, and that's exactly what I got!

The below picture is right after I got it cut. My bangs don't split anymore just so you know haha.
All it took was a wash and I was good to go!

After!

All in all, I LOVE my new look! What do you think?

XOXO

I decided to thread my eyebrows

As in, thread my own eyebrows. By myself.

If you aren't familiar with threading, it's basically an method of hair removal using nothing but thread.

As I'm writing this I haven't done it yet, but I'm getting ready to. I hope they turn out good!
I know how to thread, I'm just nervous that I'll mess up really bad...

Okay, here I go!

All done!

The process took about 15 minutes per eyebrow.. Remember, I'm  a novice!

As far as pain goes, It hurts pretty bad at first but just like plucking, the pain goes away after a few minutes.

Afterwords the area around my brows was read for about 10 minutes.

I'm not going to get into exactly how to thread, but if you're interested in learning there are some really good videos on youtube showing you how to do it.

Pinkyparadise.com I.Fairy super crystal circle lens review

I've been wanting to try circle lenses ever since discovering them.
I knew that I wanted a huge doll-eyed look, but other than that I had no idea what to look for.
After doing a little research I found the I.Fairy super crystal lenses
It took me a while, but I finally decided on the grey color. At first I was going to get the blue, but I figured they would be to bright.
A lot of people in reviews were saying that the blue lenses would make great cosplay lenses, and for some reason that turned me off completely.

I got the lenses from http://pinkyparadise.com
They arrived almost exactly two weeks after they were ordered (which was right on time!)

Here are some pics of the contacts from various sites:

Now here are some pics of me with the lenses on ;)

COLOUR: ★★★★4/5☆

I think the color is really pretty. It's subtle enough, but still noticeable. It kind of looks like a dark, dark dark blue.

ENLARGEMENT: ★★★★★5/5

These lenses are huge! I'm sure there's probably bigger out there, but these are perfect for me.

COMFORT: ★★★4/5☆

I was amazed at how comfortable these actually are. My eyes were a little irritated for a few minutes after I first put them in, but then they pretty much disappear!
The first day I wore these I had them in for around 6 1/2 hours, and If I had to, I could have kept them in longer.

NATURALNESS: ★★★3/5☆☆

To me, 3 out of five isn't necessarily a bad thing at all. I mean, my eyes are way bigger than they naturally are with these in. How natural is that supposed to look?
I think the color is pretty natural though. It's not like "Oh look hun, she has built in headlights!" ;)

Overall I really like these lenses. And I would definitely try some of the other colors if I got the opportunity.

Herbal essences set me up hairspray

I'm not really shure if this is supposed to add volume to your' hair, but if it is, it doesn't work. I like it because it doesn't feel like you are wearing hairspray when you put it on, plus It smells really really good :)
I can put as much of the product as I want on my hair, and it remains soft and touchable, not hard and gross like other hairsprays. My hair tends to stay put with this product pretty well. I've never done a review on hairspray before so I'm not really shure what else to say! I guess it works like it's supposed to, and as I mentioned before, smells really good. I like it overall!

I give this a 5 out of 5 :)
